How a Negative Mental State Affects Our Body?

Stress, a survival mindset, a sense of victimhood, resentment towards life, uncertainty, anger, feelings of emptiness, loneliness, anxiety, worry, and fear can lead us into a mentally toxic environment, which negatively affects the protein production in the cells.

The body produces many proteins through cellular genetic codes. There are 100,000 different kinds of proteins in the body, which are produced through 20,000–25,000 genes. The genes within cells are switched on or off in response to signals coming from the environment.

If we are under stress for a long period, the cells produce cortisol hormone over and over, which suppresses the production of proteins for the immune system, brain, and muscle tissues. This weakens our immune system, some brain functions, and muscle structure.

That is why people are more vulnerable to any kind of diseases when under long-term stress. Research in the United States indicates that a high proportion of doctor visits are mainly related to stress-based illnesses.
